Instructions:

  1. Wash 50 g of Blueberries and 60 g of Cherry thoroughly under cold running water.
  2. Remove stems from cherries. Cut each cherry in half and remove the pit—then quarter each half lengthwise to make small wedges suitable for grasping (aim for pieces about 1 cm × 1 cm × 2 cm). For safety, halve each blueberry lengthwise to reduce choking risk.
  3. Arrange the halved blueberries and quartered cherries on a small plate in easy-to-grasp clusters so your toddler can pick them up and self-feed (baby-led weaning style). Ensure pieces are soft and yield to gentle pressure; discard any overly firm fruit.
  4. Supervise closely while your toddler eats; sit them upright and allow them to feed themselves at their own pace.
Summary

Simple cold, no-cook, baby-led weaning snack of halved blueberries and pitted, quartered cherries for toddlers 10+ months. Focuses on self-feeding, finger grasping and safe piece size.

Storing options

Store prepared fruit in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Best served fresh and chilled. Do not refreeze. Discard if texture becomes mushy or if there are signs of spoilage.

Allergies and side effects

Watch for any allergic reactions (rash, swelling, vomiting, difficulty breathing). Both fruits can cause oral allergy syndrome in some children. Choking risk: always halve blueberries and prepare cherries by removing pits and cutting into small wedges; never leave your child unattended while eating. Consult your paediatrician with concerns or special diet restrictions.
